After making sure of your successful hotel check-in, they will be pleased to leave you free time for your own lunch and leisure to recover after the long flight.<br \/>\nIn the late afternoon, we enjoy\u00a0<strong>Water Puppet Show<\/strong>, the unique Vietnamese traditional art originated from rural festivals in Vietnam. The artists-men and women-stand waist-deep in the water to manipulate the puppets, making them move, talk and laugh and even dance on the surface of the water. Dinner is then served at a nice local restaurant.<br \/>\n<strong>Day 2: Hanoi \u2013 Nghia Lo<br \/>\n<\/strong>Breakfast is served at hotel.\u00a0<strong>7:30 am<\/strong>: Leaving bustling streets of Hanoi, we depart for\u00a0<strong>Nghia Lo<\/strong>\u00a0along Highway 32 through the Red River Delta passing\u00a0<strong>verdant rice paddies<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>farmland<\/strong>\u00a0. By early afternoon you&#8217;ll be moving away from the\u00a0<strong>Red River Delta<\/strong>\u00a0and into the mountains of\u00a0<strong>Yen Bai province<\/strong>, on your way to your destination of\u00a0<strong>Nghia Lo<\/strong>. Nghia Lo is situated along a beautiful mountain ridge separating\u00a0the\u00a0<strong>Red and Black River<\/strong>\u00a0with lush forests, tea plantations, rice terraces and gum trees, the picturesque valleys are stunning. The area is home to\u00a0<strong>Thai<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Nung<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>H&#8217;mong<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>La Ha<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Ma\u00a0ethnic minority peoples<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<strong style=\"font-size: 14.4px\">Day 3: Nghia Lo \u2013 Than Uyen<br \/>\n<\/strong>This day starts with a visit to the\u00a0<strong>local market in Nghia Lo Town<\/strong>, a chance to explore and shop for local handicrafts. Today&#8217;s drive will take us along one of the most exciting stretches of road in Vietnam and offers some of the lushes and verdant scenery found anywhere. As climbing over the mountain pass to\u00a0<strong>Mu Cang Chai<\/strong>, we will meet\u00a0<strong>H&#8217;mong<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>La Ha<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Dzao<\/strong>\u00a0hill tribe communities along the way. The road, which is not sealed and can be muddy and exiting at times, winds along the\u00a0<strong>Nam Kim River<\/strong>\u00a0which descends the valley over some cascading gorges. At the bottom of the valley is the town of\u00a0<strong>Than Uyen<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<strong>Day 4: Than Uyen \u2013 Sapa\/Home-stay<br \/>\n<\/strong>Enjoy breakfast in a local restaurant, then it\u2019s time to hit the road for\u00a0<strong>Sapa<\/strong>. From Than Uyen the road rolls along the base of the\u00a0<strong>Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range<\/strong>, home to\u00a0<strong>Mt. Fansipan<\/strong>, Vietnam\u2019s highest peak. Tea plantations and rice terraces hug the\u00a0<strong>Nam\u00a0Ma River<\/strong>\u00a0that winds along this valley dotted with\u00a0<strong>Tay<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Dzao<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>H&#8217;mong\u00a0villages<\/strong>. At\u00a0<strong>Binh Lu<\/strong>\u00a0junction we will reach the main road and start climbing up the highest mountain pass in Vietnam at 1900 Meters, then glide down into the town of Sapa. Sapa itself is a somewhat bedraggled village meshing crumbling, mildewed French colonial architecture with the pencil-thin, brick-and-concrete mini-hotels that have become so ubiquitous in recent years all across Vietnam. It\u2019s time to enjoy lunch and relax before a 3 hour short trek down this stunning valley sculpted with steep rice terraces, to\u00a0<strong>Ta Van village<\/strong>\u00a0for a\u00a0home-stay. Your guide will cook you a savory dinner of traditional Vietnamese food that you&#8217;ll be raving about, as you enjoy the hospitality of your Dzay hosts.<br \/>\n<strong>Day 5: Ta Van \u2013 Cat Cat \u2013 Sapa<br \/>\n<\/strong>Morning after breakfast, we get ready for a short trek to the bridge where the vehicle waits and transfer back to Sapa. We first sneak through the market and leave the busy town behind. After a couple of minutes, we then\u00a0embark on a lovely walk that will take us along buffalo paths and trails downhill to\u00a0<strong>Cat Cat village<\/strong>. There will be a stop by a\u00a0waterfall\u00a0and a\u00a0<strong>hydroelectric station<\/strong>\u00a0built by the French people long time ago. We take a rest here before trekking downhill to get\u00a0<strong>Sin Chai village<\/strong>. Enjoy beautiful scenery on the way back to Sapa town by car for lunch. The rest of the day is free on your own to discover Sapa in the afternoon.<br \/>\n<strong>Day 6: Sapa \u2013 Can Cau \u2013 Bac Ha<br \/>\n<\/strong>Early morning after breakfast at hotel, we depart for the 3 hour drive to\u00a0<strong>Can Cau<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Market<\/strong>\u00a0(<em>Saturday only<\/em>).\u00a0Situated in the mountains in border area, 20 km north of Bac Ha, Can Cau is a very colorful and vibrant market. Opening only on Saturdays, it always delivers a very photogenic display of\u00a0<strong>Flower\u00a0Hmong<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Black Zao<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Phu La<\/strong>\u00a0ethnic costumes. You can also find various types of livestock and local corn wine. Chinese people also come for trading. After spending the whole morning exploring the market, we will leave the market for\u00a0Bac Ha town\u00a0for lunch.<br \/>\nIn the afternoon, we will take a walk to\u00a0<strong>Ban Pho<\/strong>\u00a0village of\u00a0<strong>Nung, Tay<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Flower Hmong<\/strong> whose inhabitants grow vegetables and fruit trees. One of the most famous fruits of the area is plum. You will be able to visit a local house, meet and talk with the family.<br \/>\n<strong style=\"font-size: 14.4px\">Day 7: Bac Ha \u2013 Thac Ba Lake\/Home-stay<br \/>\n<\/strong>After breakfast at hotel, we visit the lively\u00a0<strong>Sunday market of Bac Ha<\/strong>, one of the most colorful markets in Asia! Again a wonderful opportunity to meet the locals such as Flower Hmong (Red Mong), Black Dzao, Tay, Nung, La Chi, Phu La and other minority groups in which\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Flower H\u2019Mong<\/strong>\u00a0predominantly\u00a0\u00a0live in the\u00a0area. The Sunday market is a social gathering for all groups living in the high remote villages, here they meet, drink alcohol and trade goods. Wandering around the market, you can enjoy the atmosphere and have fun trying out your trading skills with the friendly local people. We continue\u00a0our trip to\u00a0<strong>Thac\u00a0Ba Lake<\/strong>. The night is spent in a beautifully constructed stilt house down by the lakeside.<br \/>\n<strong>Day 8: Thac Ba \u2013 Hanoi<br \/>\n<\/strong>Created by construction of the Thac Ba hydroelectric plant in the 1960s,\u00a0<strong>Thac Ba<\/strong>\u00a0is one of the largest and most beautiful artificial lakes in Vietnam and captivates\u00a0travelers\u00a0with its incredible authentic beauty\u00a0and more than 300 islands under lush vegetation. We participate in a\u00a0<strong>boat trip<\/strong>\u00a0and visit some\u00a0<strong>Dzao<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Tay villages<\/strong>. After lunch in a local restaurant,\u00a0our expedition North West\u00a0comes to an end.
